Art of Strength (AOS) really needs to post a picture of this barbell. What it is is an old-time barbell that looks like a bar with two cannonballs on the ends. Think turn of the century (1800s-1900s) and strongman pictures.
It is heavy steel and welded into a single piece. The bar itself is larger in diameter than conventional plate-loaded sets, and the balls are loadable with shot or sand to customize the weight. The advantage of the larger bar is that it improves your grip strength in the same way as kettlebells. While shot-loading a barbell might not sound convenient to someone used to plate-loaded barbells, the type of strength and endurance training addressed by the AOS barbell doesn't require frequent weight changes.
Finished the same way as Art of Strength's Bulldog kettlebell - Bulldog Kettlebell. Maybe AOS will post a picture. In the meantime, you can also check www.artofstrength.com for pictures and more details.
